The Holy Grail is a dish, plate, stone, or cup that is part of an important theme of Arthurian literature and Catholic Catholicism. A grail, wondrous but not explicitly "holy," first appears in Perceval le Gallois, an unfinished romance by Chrétien de Troyes: it is a processional salver used to serve at a feast. Chrétien's story attracted many continuators, translators and interpreters in the later 12th and early 13th centuries, including Wolfram von Eschenbach, who makes the grail a great precious stone that fell from the sky. The Grail legend became interwoven with legends of the Holy Chalice. The connection with Joseph of Arimathea and with vessels associated with the Last Supper and crucifixion of Jesus, dates from Robert de Boron's Joseph d'Arimathie (late 12th century) in which Joseph receives the Grail from an apparition of Jesus and sends it with his followers to Great Britain. Building upon this theme, later writers recounted how Joseph used the Grail to catch Christ's blood while interring him and how he founded a line of guardians to keep it safe in Britain. The legend may combine Christian lore with a Celtic myth of a cauldron endowed with special powers.
In Old French, san graal or san gréal means "Holy Grail" and sang réal means "royal blood"
In Parzival, Wolfram von Eschenbach, citing the authority of a certain (probably fictional) Kyot the Provençal, claimed the Grail was a stone (called lapis exillis) that fell from Heaven, and had been the sanctuary of the neutral angels who took neither side during Lucifer's rebellion.
Though Chrétien’s account is the earliest and most influential of all Grail texts, it was in the work of Robert de Boron that the Grail truly became the "Holy Grail" and assumed the form most familiar to modern readers. In his verse romance Joseph d’Arimathie, composed between 1191 and 1202, Robert tells the story of Joseph of Arimathea acquiring the chalice of the Last Supper to collect Christ’s blood upon his removal from the cross. Joseph is thrown in prison, where Christ visits him and explains the mysteries of the blessed cup. Upon his release Joseph gathers his in-laws and other followers and travels to the west, and founds a dynasty of Grail keepers that eventually includes Perceval.
The Holy Grail is one of many relics, the most famous of the many, that attempt to mimic the Famed and Really Authentic Ark of the Covenant
The Ark of the Covenant (Hebrew: אָרוֹן הַבְּרִית ʾĀrôn Habbərît, modern pron. Aron Habrit), also known as the Ark of the Testimony, is a chest described in the Book of Exodus as containing the Tablets of Stone on which the Ten Commandments were inscribed
According to the Book of Exodus, the Ark was built at the command of God, in accordance with the instructions given to Moses on Mount Sinai. God was said to have communicated with Moses "from between the two cherubim" on the Ark's cover.
The Book of Exodus gives detailed instructions on how the Ark is to be constructed. It is to be 2½ cubits in length, 1½ in breadth, and 1½ in height (approximately 131×79×79 cm or 52×31×31 in). Then it is to be plated entirely with gold, and a crown or molding of gold is to be put around it. Four rings of gold are to be attached to its four feet—two on each side—and through these rings staves of shittim-wood overlaid with gold for carrying the Ark are to be inserted; and these are not to be removed. A golden cover, a kapporet (traditionally "Mercy Seat" in Christian translations) adorned with golden cherubim, is to be placed above the Ark. The Ark is finally to be placed behind a veil (Parochet), a full description of which is also given at Exodus 25.
When carried, the Ark was always hidden under a large veil made of skins and blue cloth, always carefully concealed, even from the eyes of the priests and the Levites who carried it.
The cover or mercy seat (Hebrew: כפורת, Kapporet ; "atonement piece") was an object which rested upon the Ark of the Covenant
The cover was manufactured from pure gold, and was the same width and breadth as the Ark beneath it – 2.5 cubits long, and 1.5 cubits wide; the Ark and cover were, according to this passage, kept inside the Holy of Holies – the Temple's innermost sanctuary, which was separated from the remainder of the temple by a thick curtain (parochet), because the ark and mercy seat were associated with the presence of Yahweh
The account also states that two golden statues of cherubim were placed at each end of the cover, facing one another and the cover, with their wings spread in order to enclose the cover; (Exodus 25:18-21) according to the Books of Samuel, these cherubim together formed a seat for Yahweh to sit and put His feet on The Ark.
The Messiah, Moshiac, Mahdi, Kalki Avatar, Maitreya... All are The One and The Same Anointed Christ the King... "The Stone" (Royal Holy Grail) thrown at the feet of the Great Statue of Prophet Daniels Book is The Christ Messiah
Daniel describes Nebuchadnezzar dream. The king has seen a great image, its head made of gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, its legs of 'iron, and its feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay. A stone not cut by hands struck the image on its feet and smashed them, and the clay, iron, bronze, silver and gold shattered and were swept away by the wind, while the stone became a great mountain filling the whole Earth. and grows to fill the whole earth.
Daniel then gives the interpretation. Nebuchadnezzar is the head of gold: he has been given dominion by God. After him another kingdom who will arise, inferior to his, and it in turn will be followed by a kingdom of bronze which will rule over the whole earth. The a fourth kingdom of iron will come, but it will be a divided, partly strong like iron and partly brittle like clay. In that time God will set up a final kingdom, the rock not cut by human hands, which will smash all the others.
That same Stone (Christ, Messiah, Moshiac, Mahdi, Maitreya, Kalki Avatar, The Holy Grail, The Anointed King) will be the modern day Ark of the Covenant which The Lord will rest His Holy Feet upon The Christs head and he will become a Living Ark of the Testimony.
